"I'm a good photographer, right?! I lived in Coney Island years ago, but it's too cold there. This is from the ferris wheel. I was all nervous, "Oh my God! My heart is going to the floor!', all the way up you can't see the people, it's too small. I wanted to take a picture with the elephants, but it was closed that day. I got this picture, from an artist, at Coney Island back in 1979. I got more hair, I'm more beautiful, more fat. This is my mother-in-law, my grandfather, me at 18 years"

"I enjoyed taking the pictures, but I was not sure what I was doing. I was worried that it was going to turn out okay. I took pictures of flowers because I love flowers, nature. I'm just trying to say that I'm living one day at a time, one step at a time, and that I'm enjoying my life. These are my two kids, and I wanted to show that this is my family and that we try to be united the most we can. My family, my kids - they are my inspiration to keep on going, because there is nothing else."

In 2005 I went with a group to visit a Shipibo Indian Shaman living in the upper Amazon basin. I was to spend a week at his home with his wife, mother, seven daughters and eight grandchildren.
